Week 356 – Natasha looked stunned by the kiss but also encouraged to do what she needed to do
As she walked away Natasha looked stunned by the kiss but also encouraged to do what she needed to do.
Tony had no idea what he’d been thinking kissing her like that, but she’d looked so afraid and so unsure of herself and her ability to do what he was asking her to, and honestly he just hadn’t been able to resist.
Not only was the woman drop dead gorgeous but she was so very brave. What he was asking of her was a lot, and yet she had agreed. She was willing to put herself in danger for the greater good and that was the most attractive thing of all.
“Think she can pull it off?” Garret asked, making no mention of the fact that he’d just killed the sister of a suspect they were trying to bring down. For which Tony was eternally grateful.
“Actually, yeah, I do. All she needs to do is give me an in to talk to her brother, she can do this.” What he was more worried about was painting a target on Natasha’s back rather than her letting them down.
She’d told him about her trashed house and the bloody warnings to stop looking into the missing money. Since Brandon was no doubt behind the whole thing there was a chance that he might wonder why his sister was coming to him about it. Natasha was going to tell him she was scared and wanted his help, but the man might believe the timing was too suspicious.
Still he would do everything in his power to keep her safe.
“You ready to head in?” he asked his partner.
When Garret nodded, they both headed into the crowded bar. It was Friday night and the place was packed. Like magnets his gaze was immediately drawn to the bar where Natasha was perched on a stool talking to her brother.
Perfect.
All he had to do now was look like all the other drunk patrons and sidle over to Natasha, striking up a conversation with her and getting an introduction to Brandon. After that he’d take over and Natasha could go back to her safe little life.
At least he prayed it was going to be that easy, but a sick feeling in his gut whispered that he’d just set in motion a train wreck he’d be powerless to stop.
