Week 125 – He’s not a cop though
Logan just stared at her.His eyes wide in confused shock.“He’s not a cop though,” he finally said. “At the hospital you were upset about cops.”Her memories were starting to come rushing back, so fast that it made her dizzy, and she moaned, pressing a hand to her aching head. This was all so confusing.Too much had happened too quickly and all she wanted do was lie down and go to sleep. But she couldn’t, because the man who had been in her bedroom, who had followed her to Logan’s house had also come here. He was right outside the bedroom and Amelia was terrified that he was going to come in at any second.“Amelia, are you sure it was Peter? Why would my brother hurt you?”“Because someone told him too,” she whispered, the more her memories came back the scareder she became.“Who? Who asked him to hurt you?” Logan demanded.“M-my sister,” she whispered.“Why would your sister want to hurt you?” Logan still looked and sounded confused. Before she could offer an explanation a voice behind them made them both jump.“I think I can explain that,” her sister, and Peter stood in the doorway, both armed, and both grinning at them manically. -
Week 124 – You’re killing me
Something was wrong.Logan could tell from the way Amelia was shaking in his arms. She must have remembered something. Something big from the looks of things.“Amelia, did you remember something?” he asked, trying to pull her back so he could see her face but the more he tried the more she curled into him, clinging to him.“M-my head h-hurts,” she whispered.“I think thats enough for tonight,” Peter announced. “She really needs some rest.”As much as he wanted information, Logan had to agree with his brother. He’d put too much pressure on Amelia and it was starting to show.“Yeah, okay,” he said. “Come on, lets get you into bed.”He stood and scooped Amelia into his arms, she buried her face against his neck, her cheeks were wet with tears and he felt a stab of guilt. He never should have convinced her to try this tonight. She’d just been through so much and then instead of letting her rest so she could regain some strength, physically and mentally, he had made her relive it.“I’m sorry,” he said as he entered the bedroom and laid her down on the bed.“D-don’t let me go,” she said, sounding panicked and tightening her hold on him.“You’re killing me, darlin.” Guilt was jabbing at him, and every tear she shed was like another knife in his chest. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry for pushing you. Don’t worry about it, okay? We’ll figure this out, I don’t want you to put this kind of pressure on yourself. We’ll find another way to figure out who hurt you.”Amelia sobbed and tried to get closer to him, which was virtually impossible since she was already plastered against his chest.“I-I know,” she wept.“Know what?” he asked, confused.“W-who it was.”“You remembered?” This time he forcefully pried her off of him so he could see her face. She nodded, shaking so badly he could hear her teeth chattering.“Who was it?”She shuddered and tried to wriggle closer again but he held her firmly. He needed to know who it was so he could go and arrest the man.“Amelia? Tell me.”Her terrified eyes met his, tears still tumbling down her pale cheeks. “It was Peter.” -
Week 123 – Oh wow. I can’t wait for more
“It was kind of blurry,” Amelia cautioned, she didn’t want to get Logan’s hopes up because she truly didn’t remember any more than bits and pieces. “But when I heard the spoon clink against the teacup I remembered something from earlier.”
“What did you remember?” Logan asked.
Since she was sitting in his lap she could feel how tense he was. Amelia knew how badly he wanted to catch this guy, and not just because he was a cop. Or because he too had been injured when the man broke into his home. She knew that part of his desire to find this man was because of her. Because she had been hurt and there was something developing between them.
“Amelia?” Logan jostled her gently when she didn’t answer. “Did you remember something?”
“I remember being on your bed. I remember the sound of a teaspoon tapping against a cup, it woke me up. I couldn’t move. I remember him talking, I can hear his voice but I can’t hear what he’s saying. I remember him touching me,” her breath started to catch as slowly more memories began to trickle in.
“Shh, its alright,” Logan said, leaning down to touch his forehead to hers. “Do you want to stop?”
“No,” she said adamantly. “I want to do this, I want to remember, I hate not knowing what happened and who hurt me.” As much as her returning memories scared her, they made her feel like oh wow. I can’t wait for more, because she knew the more was only going to get worse. But she didn’t have a choice. She was the only one who had seen this man.
“Close your eyes and try to concentrate,” Logan told her, he started rubbing circles on her back, the motion both soothed her and lulled her into a sort of trance.
Amelia tried to put herself back in Logan’s house, tried let herself relax, tried to focus on the details. “I see a face, but I can’t make it out,” she said, frustrated. It was disconcerting not to have access to her own memories.
“You’re trying too hard, relax, just focus on his face but don’t try to force it to come to you,” Logan coached.
She tried to do as he suggested. She stared at the fuzzy face as though it were actually still ahead of her and let her memories just come back to her when they were ready.
It wasn’t working.
Amelia was just about to give up when the blurry oval started to change. Bit by bit the features became recognisable, and with an audible gasp she realised that she actually knew who the man was.

Week 122 – Loved this
“Whoa,” Logan tightened his arms around Amelia when she suddenly went limp in his grip.“What happened?” Peter asked as he came rushing over, setting a tray with three cups of tea and a teapot down on the table beside them.“I don’t know, we were talking, and she just passed out,” he explained. “Right when you walked in here with the tea,” he added thoughtfully. Was it the smell that had triggered something and caused her to faint? A clue maybe about what-and who-had attacked her?“Logan?” Amelia’s voice fluttered weakly.“Right here, darlin,” he assured her. Keeping a hold of her he gently eased her back so he could see her face. There were dark circles under her eyes, and she was ghost level pale, breaking her out of the hospital had been a bad idea, but he couldn’t see an alternative. A cop had attacked her, he knew it, and there was no way he was going to risk her safety by keeping her somewhere the entire police department was aware of.“Did your memories come back?” Peter asked.“Uh uh,” she shook her head, her fingers curled into his shirt and she inched closer.Sensing that she wasn’t telling the truth, not because she wanted to lie to him but because she was feeling afraid and overwhelmed. Logan knew what she needed, since his brother was hovering beside them he couldn’t kiss her like he wanted to, but he did touch his lips to hers, and immediately he felt her settled.“Loved this,” she murmured when he straightened.“What did you remember?” he asked, as much as he wanted to give her time to come to terms with what she’d been through, they didn’t have time. They needed to know who had attacked her so that he could get the guy in custody and make sure that Amelia stayed safe.“Its just bits and pieces,” she told him.“That’s fine,” he said as he dragged her into his lap, giving her at least an illusion of safety so she felt secure enough to tell them what she knew.“It was kind of blurry, but when I heard the spoon clink against the teacup I remembered . . .” -
Week 121 – Bad idea + A spoon clicking on a tea cup triggered fear, and she fainted
“This is a bad idea.”“Yeah, you said that already.”Amelia looked from Logan to his brother Peter. They’d been having this same argument ever since they’d left the hospital over an hour ago.“No one said you had to come with us,” Logan told his brother.“When did you get your MD?” his brother shot back. “Did you forget that we ran from the hospital? How were you planning on looking after her if I wasn’t here?”“We didn’t run from the hospital,” Logan corrected. “She doesn’t remember what happened, or who hurt her, but she freaked out when she heard cops were coming, we’re simply keeping her someplace safe until we figure this out.”They’d been talking about her like she wasn’t here ever since Logan had snatched her up and snuck her out of the emergency room and into his brother’s car. He’d sat in the backseat with her on his lap and that was probably the only thing that had kept her from freaking out.She wished she knew why.Why did the idea of talking to cops scare her badly?Logan was a cop and she wasn’t afraid of him. Was he right and it was her subconscious trying to protect her because the man who had been in her room and had gone to all the trouble of following her to Logan’s been a police officer?Amelia didn’t want to think about it right now. She didn’t want to think about any of this. She wanted everything to go back to normal, she wanted her plain, boring life back, she wasn’t cut out for this kind of thing. She didn’t even like scary movies, and now her life had turned into a scary movie and as much as she wanted to turn it off she couldn’t.“Aren’t you going to call your boss, or your partner, tell them whats going on?” Peter asked.“No,” Logan said simply as he set her down on the couch. As soon as his arms released her Amelia sucked in a terrified breath. It didn’t go unnoticed.“I’m not leaving you,” Logan told her. The blue eyes that she had once thought dreamy now were the only thing holding her together. The look on his face told her that if they’d been alone he’d be kissing her right now.She wished they were alone.“I’ll make us something to drink,” Peter muttered, stalking out of the room.Looked like he was her fairy godfather tonight, granting her wishes.Slowly, Logan dipped his head and very lightly brushed his lips across hers. She knew he was trying to bear in mind the fact that he’s just sprung her from the hospital but she didn’t wanted to be treated like she might crack into a million pieces at any second. Talking about her like she wasn’t there was one thing but she wasn’t going to have him kissing her like she was some delicate little child.Amelia wrapped an arm around Logan’s neck and pulled herself off the couch cushions. She kissed him like she had no intention of stopping with just a kiss.Which she didn’t.Her free hand was already trying to undo his shirt buttons.“Whoa, darlin’,” Logan’s hands curled around hers, and she felt a small rumble in his chest. “If my brother comes back in here and finds us making out he’s going to lecture both of us, and trust me you do not want to hear a doctor lecture you.”Right.He was right. They couldn’t make out now.She was about to tell Logan she could wait until they were alone, but the sound of a spoon clicking on a tea cup triggered fear, and she fainted.
