Week 476 – Sasha woke up to Blake standing over her holding a syringe

Even as she snapped awake, she knew.

He’d come for her.

Panic threatened to light her chest on fire, or maybe it was lingering pain from her injury and surgery, probably it was both, but she didn’t have time to give to it.

If there was one thing the last twenty-four or so hours had taught her it was that she was a fighter, she didn’t give up even when she had every reason to, and Graham made her want to fight even harder.

She liked him a lot and the only way she got a chance with him was to survive this.

Sasha woke up to Blake standing over her holding a syringe, but she didn’t waste time focusing on the smug smile he gave her, the confidence in his eyes, or the fact that Graham and his friend were waiting right by the door to come in and save her.

Because she didn’t need saving, she could do it all on her own.

Catching him by surprise, she grabbed the hand that was clutching the syringe and shoved it up, ramming the sharp needle into his neck and then depressing the plunger. She had no idea what was in it, didn’t care either, just assumed it was something that would end her life.

“Sasha!”

The door burst open as Graham came rushing in along with his friend and at least half a dozen armed cops.

“Can save myself,” she whispered with as much fierce determination as she could summon. Never again was she going to be a victim, and she hoped Blake died, because she’d feel so much better knowing all the men who had hurt her could never lay a hand on her again.

“Of course you can, honey,” Graham said as he came straight to her, leaving the cops to deal with the man on the floor of her hospital room who didn’t appear to be moving anymore. “I never doubted you for a second.”

“I don’t want you to go,” she told him, curling her fingers around his when he picked up her hand.

“I don’t want to go either.”

“I meant ever.”

“Me too. Finders keepers and all that, I found you in the woods and I get to keep you.”

Sasha laughed for the first time in months. “Fingers keepers,” she agreed.
