Belle Wilkins is a strong, confident woman who works for Prey Security as part of their Serial Killer Apprehension Team. At least she was until she's sent to work with a detective in Montana and finds she'll be working alongside none other than the boy who broke her heart as a teenager. Now he's all grown up and hotter than she remembers, and Belle isn't ready for the mix of hurt, anger, and a sense of inadequacy that comes when she's face-to-face with the boy she once loved. Especially when she realizes the issue that first drove them apart still exists.

Detective Jacob Jenkins knows he needs help with his current case, a serial killer who seems enamored with emulating animals as he tears apart his victims with his hands and teeth. He calls Prey Security, but the last person he expects to arrive to help him is his high school ex, and she seems completely unremorseful for ruining the good thing they had with her unfounded jealousy.

But if they want to stop a dangerous killer, they'll have to find a way to leave the past behind them and work together.
